From early childhood to the present, now the matriarch of a 22-member family, art has been a driving force in my life. Painting in oils by age 10, at 12 I sold my first painting. The first of many to come in my lifetime, in the eighth grade I won my first national art award. In my early twenties, I became an artist for Hallmark Cards and then later, a package designer for Sealright, Co., Inc. I also created a note card line that I marketed mail order in magazines, trading ad space for my articles on self-sufficiency. In the last 25 years my pastel and oil paintings have been juried into many large exhibitions, winning numerous top awards. A self-taught artist, currently I am teaching my students some unusual ways of creating art, developed over my lifetime. Inexpensive prints and cards are available for all art displayed on this page.
