Artist Lance Sawyer
This vessel was made from a single piece of a locally harvested dead Aspen tree turned on a lathe, separated and formed into the bowl and the lid. The Box Elder handle was formed from a piece of wood from a dead tree harvested in a Denver neighborhood. 
I chose to use the Box Elder, with its red veining, as the handle to draw out the red in the Aspen surrounding some of the darker wood. 
The piece is finished with buffed carnuba wax on the exterior and food safe mineral oil on the interior.
