David Arlo Billesbach
Designing costumes, masks and walking big heads for Mardi Gras and Jazz Festival New Orleans were my first introduction to creative arts. From there in the early 90"s, I began to study drawing and still life oil painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in New Orleans. 18 years later, I was drawn back to painting, expressionist portraits and studying with Daniel Loge in Grand Junction. Last summer studying with the impressionist artist Don Sahli, exposure to plein air painting has expanded my use of color and impasto creating more textures.
