Executive Summary – Chaffee Arts Annual Report – 2019
 

Art for the community:  Our Open Award Show in May  drew over 750 visitors and the opening reception had 250 attendees.  We displayed 100 pieces of art from over 50 local artists. We hosted the July Art Walk in downtown Buena Vista with 10 exhibiting artists.  AVDI started a monthly rotating art exhibit for member artists. Fifteen local artists were featured in the September exhibit at the Buena Vista Library.  We held an art for sale event titled “Art Under the Cupola” for two weekends in concert with Small Business Saturday and Christmas Opening.  

 

Education:  We held 7 free middle school art classes with volunteer instructors from Chaffee Arts members.  Thirty-four students participated in the program and it was funded by Operation RoundUp. We also handled colored marker recycling at Avery Parsons Elementary School.  

For our Members:  We held 4 artist studio tours, hosted a “Price Your Art Workshop” and increased membership to 124 and business members to 6.
